Bunko Commons is a project that I have been waiting to build for a while now: a site to host Japanese language learning materials that are Creative Commons licensed. This means that all content on the site can be used by anyone to study, remix, or even build new services upon without the need to seek permission from us.
There are many sites out there that does the same thing, but they own the data, not us. Which means that if they shut down, the data could potentially go along with them. One of the goals of Bunko Common is to prevent that by allowing all data on the website to be available for anyone to archive and use.
We are starting out with a few textbooks and online novels that I have read. If you are interested in moving your data over, you can do so by creating an account and creating your own sources or word lists. These can be public or private if you don't want others to see yet.
At this moment, there is only 1 user (that's me) contributing to the site, and I hope to see more folks, such as you, join in future.
Cheers,
Victor
